Prevention & Intervention

We offer evidence-based and trauma informed services geared towards the prevention and intervention of violence, substance abuse and risk taking behaviors.

These services are a second opportunity for juveniles to reintegrate to school, family, community or the workforce.

 

The Achievement Center Escondido is an after-school program designed to maintain community safety and promote long-term success for at risk youth. Our goal is to aid in the prevention and intervention of youth involvement with the justice system by providing a variety of services to support their success.

Community Assessment Teams

A multi-agency prevention and intervention program for families with school-age youth (6-18) who may be at risk for future involvement in the juvenile justice system and are in need of short-term group or individual counseling services.

Workshops & Classes

COMPACT offers an array of classes and workshops such as; cannabis abuse, decion making, anger managment, emotional regulation and more

Drug Free Communities

Serving Escondido through the Coalition For Drug Free Escondido, a local coalition compromised of organizations and persons who are interested in working together to prevent youth access to alcohol, marijuana and other drugs.

Family intervention team (FIT)

Supporting young men on their journey to becoming men of honor. The Family Intervention Team (FIT) pairs retired law enforcement officers with case managers to provide intervention, mentoring and decision making services to adolescent males who are at risk for joining or associating with a gang or becoming involved in criminal behavior. Students in 5th– 12th grade who attend school in Escondido are eligible to participate. Services are at no cost to the youth and their families.

Girls rock

The Girls Rock Program is a Gender Specific Program designed to provide intervention services for females in the 7th or 8th grade. The program is facilitated by COMPACT’s Girl Case Manager and two female Escondido Police Officers.

Project HERO

Project Hero is a mentoring program for youth ages 12-24. The mentoring relationship will last for 1 year and mentors are trained through a partnership with Mentor Management Systems.
